शुकस्य योगसिद्धिः (Śuka’s Yogic Attainment and Ascent)
एवमुक्त: स वैदेहं प्रत्युवाचापरोक्षवित् । निवृत्तिर्न तयोरस्ति नानिवृत्ति: कथठ्चन
evam uktaḥ sa vaidehaṁ pratyuvāca aparokṣavit | nivṛttir na tayor asti nānivṛttiḥ kathaṁcana ||
このように問われると、直証の知を具えた聖仙はヴィデーハ王に答えた。「老いと死という二つのものに、絶対の止滅はない。だが、いかなる仕方でも止滅が不可能だというのも真ではない。財や世俗の権勢によっては克服できぬが、智慧の知によっては輪廻の再生そのものを終わらせ得る—そうなれば、老いと死について何をさらに語る必要があろうか。」
