सुवर्णष्ठीविनोपाख्यानम्

The Account of Suvarṇaṣṭhīvin

ववृधे स यथाकालं सरसीव महोत्पलम्‌ | बभूव काजञ्चनष्ठीवी यथार्थ नाम तस्य तत्‌,जैसे सरोवरमें कमल बढ़ता है, उसी प्रकार वह राजकुमार यथासमय बढ़ने लगा। वह मुखसे स्वर्ण उगलनेके कारण सुवर्णष्ठीवी नामसे प्रसिद्ध हुआ। उसका वह नाम सार्थक था

vavṛdhe sa yathākālaṃ sarasīva mahotpalam | babhūva kāñcanaṣṭhīvī yathārthaṃ nāma tasya tat ||

彼は時にかなって成長し、池に咲く大輪の蓮のように育っていった。口から黄金を吐き出したため、人々は彼をスヴァルナシュティーヴィー(「黄金を吐く者」)と呼んだ。その名はまことに事実にかなっていた。
