Educational Q&A

The verse instructs that dharma requires prompt removal of a dying/deceased person from the house and performance of cremation at the cremation ground with ritual purity and scripturally prescribed procedure.

Parāśara is giving normative guidance on proper conduct surrounding death—how the body should be taken out, conveyed to the śmaśāna, and cremated according to śāstric rules.
