Welfare, Steadfastness, and Norms of Giving
न चैशि: पुण्यकर्माणो युज्यन्ते चाभिसंधिजै: । एवंविधैश्व बहुभिरपरै: प्राकृतेरपि,पुण्यकर्म करनेवाले मनुष्य इस तरहके उपायोंसे प्राण नहीं देते तथा ऐसे-ऐसे दूसरे अधम उपायोंसे भी उनकी मृत्यु नहीं होती
na caiśiḥ puṇyakarmāṇo yujyante cābhisaṃdhijaiḥ | evaṃvidhaiś ca bahubhir aparaiḥ prākṛter api ||
パラーシャラは言った。「功徳ある行いに身を捧げる者は、作為的に仕組まれた策謀や奸計によって命を終えることはない。さらに、世俗のありふれた性から生じる同類の卑しい手段がいかに多くあろうとも、それによって滅びることもない。」この偈は、徳に根ざした生は些末な陰謀や卑劣な策では容易に覆らぬという倫理の眼差しを示す。
पराशर उवाच
The verse teaches that a person established in puṇya (merit/virtue) is not easily destroyed by calculated plots or ignoble, low methods; ethical living is presented as a protective moral force against petty malice.
