हिरण्यकवचा: सर्वे सर्वे चोत्तमधन्विन:

hiraṇyakavacāḥ sarve sarve cottamadhanvinaḥ |

ヴァーユは語った。「彼らは皆、黄金の甲冑をまとい、しかも一人として弓の名手でない者はいなかった。」この偈は王家の富と武備の整い—権勢の外徴—を示しつつ、『シャーンティ・パルヴァ』の倫理の枠内では、富と武勇は驕りや放逸ではなく、ダルマ(法)によって統べられるべきだと省察を促す。
