Educational Q&A

The verse highlights divine grace expressed as permission and freedom: when the deity is pleased, he grants consent without obstruction—allowing rightful desire to proceed. Ethically, it underscores that approval and release (anujñā) can be a form of benevolence, removing constraints rather than imposing them.

Bhīṣma narrates that Śiva (Bhava), delighted with Pārvatī, smiles and repeatedly declares that “this one may go wherever he wishes,” signaling that Śiva has granted leave/permission to the concerned being to depart and act according to his will.
