Adhyāya 284: Tapas as a Corrective to Household Attachment

Parāśara’s Instruction

यश, राज्य, सुख, ऐश्वर्य, काम, अर्थ, धन और विद्याकी इच्छा रखनेवाले पुरुषोंको भक्तिभावका आश्रय लेकर यत्नपूर्वक इस स्तोत्रका श्रवण करना चाहिये ।।

yaśaḥ rājyaṃ sukham aiśvaryaṃ kāmam arthaṃ dhanaṃ ca vidyāṃ ca icchantaḥ puruṣā bhaktibhāvam āśritya yatnapūrvakam asya stotrasya śravaṇaṃ kuryuḥ || vyādhito duḥkhito dīnaś coragrahasto bhayārditaḥ | rājkāryābhiyukto vā mucyate mahato bhayāt ||

ビーシュマは言った。「名声・王権・幸福・威勢・欲望成就・利得・財・学知を望む者は、信愛に身を寄せ、心して努め、この讃歌を聴くべきである。さらに、病める者、悲嘆に沈む者、貧しき者、盗賊に捕らわれた者、恐怖に圧される者、あるいは王の政務に関わる罪を問われた者であっても、この讃歌を誦することにより大いなる危難から解き放たれる。」
