Adhyāya 283: Varṇa-vṛtti, Nyāya-ārjana, and the Decline-and-Restoration of Dharma (वर्णवृत्तिः न्यायार्जनं च)
इन्द्रेण सहिता: सर्वे आगता यज्ञभागिन: । आदित्य, वसु, रुद्र, साध्य और मरुदगण--ये सब-के-सब इन्द्रके साथ यज्ञमें भाग लेनेके लिये वहाँ पधारे थे
vaiśampāyana uvāca | indreṇa sahitāḥ sarve āgatā yajñabhāginaḥ | ādityā vasavaḥ rudrāḥ sādhyāḥ marudgaṇāś ca—te sarve indreṇa saha yajñe bhāga-grahaṇāya tatra samupāgatāḥ |
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。供物の分け前を正当に受けるべき者たちは、ことごとくインドラとともに来集した。アーディティヤ、ヴァス、ルドラ、サーディヤ、そしてマルットの群れ—一人として欠けることなく—インドラに随い、祭祀における定めの分を受け取るためにそこへ赴いたのである。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores dharmic order in ritual life: when a sacrifice is properly arranged, the rightful recipients (the gods and their classes) are honored with their due shares, reflecting reciprocity and cosmic harmony.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Indra arrives at the sacrifice accompanied by major divine groups—Ādityas, Vasus, Rudras, Sādhyas, and Maruts—who assemble to receive their respective portions of the offerings.
