एकी भूतस्य न त्वस्य धारणे तेजस: प्रभो । समर्था सकला पृथ्वी बहुधा सृज्यतामयम्‌,प्रभो! आपका तेजरूप यह ज्वर जबतक एक रूपमें रहेगा, तबतक यह सारी पृथ्वी इसे धारण करनेमें समर्थ न हो सकेगी। अतः इसे अनेक रूपोंमें विभक्त कर दीजिये

Transliteration

ekī-bhūtasya na tv asya dhāraṇe tejasāḥ prabho | samarthā sakalā pṛthvī bahudhā sṛjyatām ayam ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「主よ、この燃えさかる力――この熱病が――一つの姿のまま分かたれずにあるかぎり、大地はそれを支えきれぬ。ゆえに主よ、それを多くの形として生み、分け広げ、多様ならしめよ。そうしてこそ世界はその威力に耐え得る。」
