Educational Q&A

Bhishma teaches that steadfast adherence to dharma and disciplined resolve make a righteous ruler/warrior ‘unconquered’—symbolized through Indra’s paradigmatic victory as Śatakratu and slayer of foes.

In the Shanti Parva’s instruction section, Bhishma addresses Kaunteya with reassurance and exhortation, predicting his invincibility on earth by comparing him to Indra’s victorious stature in heaven.
