Educational Q&A

Kapila teaches that a brahmin should uphold the sacrificial tradition—performing yajñas and serving as officiant for others—steadfastly and according to proper rite, because such action yields great heavenly merit after death.

In Kapila’s discourse in the Śānti Parva, he addresses a brahmin and argues for the efficacy and duty of Vedic sacrifice, stating that correct ritual performance leads to svarga as its posthumous fruit.
