Yoga-kṛtya (योककृत्य) — Vyāsa on Sense-Restraint, Obstacles, and Brahman-Realization
सर्वभूतान्युपादाय तपसश्नलरणाय हि । आदिकर्ता स भूतानां तमेवाहु: प्रजापतिम्,भूतोंके आदि कर्ता ब्रह्माजी ही तपस्याके लिये समस्त सूक्ष्म भूतोंको साथ लेकर समष्टि शरीरमें प्रवेश करके स्थित होते हैं; इसलिये मुनिजन उन्हें प्रजापति कहते हैं
sarvabhūtāny upādāya tapasas tvaṇāya hi | ādikartā sa bhūtānāṁ tam evāhuḥ prajāpatiṁ ||
ヴィヤーサは言った――苦行と創造の働きのために、彼はあらゆる存在（その微細な構成要素として）を取りまとめ、衆生の根源の造り手となる。ゆえに賢者たちは彼を「プラジャーパティ（Prajāpati）」、すなわち生きとし生けるものを生み出し秩序づける主と呼ぶのである。
