Educational Q&A

As a chapter-ending colophon, the verse itself does not state a doctrine; it marks the completion of a dharma-oriented discourse presented as a dialogue between Lakṣmī (auspicious prosperity) and Indra (sovereign power). In the Śānti Parva context, such framing typically underscores that prosperity and authority must be guided by dharma and ethical discernment.

The text is concluding the chapter titled “Lakṣmī–Indra Saṃvāda” within the Gokṣa-dharma section of the Śānti Parva. It functions as an editorial closure statement, indicating that the dialogue has ended and the chapter count has been reached.
