ब्राह्मणस्य पूर्वतरा वृत्तिः — The Earlier Ideal Conduct of a Brahmana
River-of-Saṃsāra Metaphor
काल पश्यति सुव्यक्ते पाणावामलकं यथा । कालचारित्रतत्त्वज्ञ: सर्वशास्त्रविशारद:
kālaṁ paśyati suvyakte pāṇāv āmalakaṁ yathā | kālacāritra-tattvajñaḥ sarvaśāstra-viśāradaḥ ||
ビーシュマは言った。「汝は時を、掌に置かれたアーマラカ果（āmalaka）を見るがごとく、完全な明晰さで見ている。汝は時とそのはたらきの真実相を知り、あらゆるシャーストラ（śāstra）に通暁している。」
