जीवितं जीवलोकस्य कालेनागम्य नीयते । “धन और भोग नष्ट हो जाते हैं। स्थान और ऐश्वर्य छिन जाता है तथा इस जीव-जगतके जीवनको भी काल आकर हर ले जाता है

jīvitaṃ jīvalokasya kālenāgamya nīyate |

ビーシュマは言った。「この生ある世のすべての者の命は、『時』(カーラ)が来れば運び去られる。財も享楽も滅び、地位も王権も奪われ、ついには命そのものさえ時に取られる。ゆえに、移ろう権勢や所有に執着せず、ダルマと、変転を超えて存するものへと身を向けよ。」
