स एव हाुस्तमयते स सम विद्योतते दिश:
sa eva hāstamayate sa samaṁ vidyotate diśaḥ | sa eva yathāsamayaṁ ālasyaṁ chittvā samantād diśaḥ prakāśayati, sa evāstam eti sa eva varṣati | brahman! taṁ baliṁ ahaṁ mṛgayamāṇo ’pi na paśyāmi | tvaṁ me rājānaṁ balikaṁ ācakṣva ||
ビーシュマは言った。「沈むのもただ彼であり、等しく輝いて方角を照らすのもただ彼である。時至れば怠惰を捨て、あらゆる方位を明るくし、また沈み、また雨を降らせる。おおブラフマンよ、私はそのバリを探しても見いだせぬ。告げよ——バリ王を私に示せ。」
