आहारनियमं चैव देशे काले च सात्विकम्‌ । तत्‌ परीक्ष्यानुवर्तेत तत्प्रवृत्त्यनुपूर्वकम्‌

āhāra-niyamaṃ caiva deśe kāle ca sāttvikam | tat parīkṣyānuvarteta tat-pravṛtty-anupūrvakam ||

ビーシュマは言った。「土地と季節にかなうサットヴァ的(清浄)な食の規律を定めよ。その食を—功徳と過失とを—吟味したうえで、順序正しく一歩一歩それに従い、修行と成就を支えるものだけを取るがよい。」
