Adhyāya 193: Adjudication of the Comparable Fruits of Japa and Yoga
जो लोभ और मोहसे युक्त हो एक दूसरेको खा जानेके लिये उद्यत रहते हैं, वे भी इसी लोकमें आवागमन करते रहते हैं, उत्तरदिशाके उत्कृष्ट लोकमें नहीं जाने पाते हैं ।।
bharadvāja uvāca | ye lobha-mohābhyāṁ yuktā anyonyam khāditum udyatāḥ santi, te ’pi asmin loke punar-āvartante; na tu uttaradiśaḥ utkṛṣṭaṁ lokaṁ gacchanti || ye gurūn paryupāsante niyatā brahmacāriṇaḥ, manasendriyāṇi saṁyamya; panthānaṁ sarva-lokānāṁ vijānanti manīṣiṇaḥ ||
バラドヴァージャは言った。「貪りと迷妄に縛られ、互いを食らわんと常に身構える者は、この世においてのみ往来し続け、北方の卓越した界へは至らない。だが、戒律を守る梵行者（ブラフマチャーリン）で、心と諸根を制し、師に恭しく仕える者――その賢者たちは、あらゆる世界へ通ずる道を知るに至る。」
