Adhyāya 193: Adjudication of the Comparable Fruits of Japa and Yoga
सर्वकामैर्व॒ता: केचिद्धेमाभरण भूषिता: । प्राणधारणमात्र तु केषांचिदुपपद्यते । श्रमेण महता केचित् कुर्वन्ति प्राणधारणम्
bharadvāja uvāca | sarvakāmair vṛtāḥ kecid hemābharaṇa-bhūṣitāḥ | prāṇa-dhāraṇa-mātraṁ tu keṣāṁcid upapadyate | śrameṇa mahatā kecit kurvanti prāṇa-dhāraṇam |
バラドヴァージャは言った。「その世界では、ある者は望むかぎりの享楽に囲まれ、黄金の装身具で飾られている。だが、ある者は命を保つだけの糧しか得られず、またある者は大いなる労苦によって、ただ息をつなぐのみである。かくして、そこにおいてさえ業の果は目に見える形で現れ、衆生は自らの行いに応じて異なる境遇を受ける。」
