Jāpakānāṃ Gatiḥ — The Destinies of Japa-Practitioners (Śānti Parva 12.190)
yasya sarve samārambhā nirāśīrbandhanā dvija
The verse points to an ethical ideal of action without craving for outcomes and without attachment that binds—undertaking duties with inner freedom rather than desire-driven compulsion.
Bharadvāja addresses a ‘dvija’ and begins describing the qualities of a person whose actions are untainted by expectation and bondage, as part of a broader Shānti Parva discourse on right conduct and liberation-oriented living.
