अपाणिव्वाद् वय ब्रह्मन् कण्टकं नोद्धरामहे । जन्तूनुच्चावचानड्े दशतो न कषाम वा
apāṇivat vayaṁ brahman kaṇṭakaṁ noddharāmahe | jantūn uccāvacān daśato na kṣāmā vā ||
ビーシュマは言った。「婆羅門よ、我らは手なき者のようだ。棘が身に刺さっても、手がないゆえに抜き取れぬ。さらに大小さまざまな生き物が身を噛み刺しても、それを追い払うことすらできぬ。」
