Adhyāya 178 — The courses of prāṇa-vāyu and the regulation of the bodily fire

यच्च कामसुखं लोके यच्च दिव्यं महत्सुखम्‌ । तृष्णाक्षयसुखस्यैते नाहत: षोडशीं कलाम्‌

Transliteration

yacca kāmasukhaṁ loke yacca divyaṁ mahatsukham | tṛṣṇākṣayasukhasyaite nāhataḥ ṣoḍaśīṁ kalām ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「この世で感官の対象から生じるいかなる快楽も、また彼の世で語られる大いなる神聖な幸福も—その二つは、渇愛（欲求）の滅尽から生まれる幸福の十六分の一にも及ばない。」
