Educational Q&A

The verse contributes to Bhīṣma’s broader instructive cataloguing of beings and phenomena, implying that dharma-oriented knowledge includes understanding the diversity of creation and the traditional categories by which it is described.

In his discourse, Bhīṣma mentions a group known as the Bhāruṇḍas and characterizes them as ‘human-faced,’ adding them to a list of notable beings recognized in traditional lore.
