निशम्य दानवा: सर्वे हृष्टा: समभिदुद्रुवु: । भयानक कर्म करनेकी इच्छासे वैसा ही रूप धारण करनेवाले रुद्रदेवको देखकर समस्त दानव हर्ष और उत्साहमें भरकर उनके ऊपर टूट पड़े
niśamya dānavāḥ sarve hṛṣṭāḥ samabhidudruvuḥ | bhayānaka-karma-karaṇecchayā tathaiva rūpaṃ dhārayantaṃ rudradevaṃ dṛṣṭvā samastā dānavā harṣotsāhena pūritāḥ tasyaivopari prapetuḥ |
ビーシュマは語った。これを聞くや、すべてのダーナヴァは歓喜して、いっせいに駆け寄った。恐るべき業をなさんとの意にふさわしい姿を取ったルドラを見て、彼らは昂揚と戦の熱に満たされ、彼に向かって襲いかかった。
