On Gratitude and Friendship Ethics
तदा हिमवत: शड्रे सुरम्ये पद्मतारके । शतयोजनविस्तारे मणिरत्नचयाचिते
tadā himavataḥ śṛṅge suramye padmatārake | śatayojanavistāre maṇiratnacayācite ||
ビーシュマは語った。「そのとき、ヒマヴァットの麗しき峰において、あまりの高みゆえ天の星々が、そこに咲く蓮華のように見える頂があった。広がりは百ヨージャナ、宝珠と貴石が積み重なり、きらめきに満ちていた。その場へ、ブラフマ仙たちを伴い、梵天ブラフマーが到来した――それは、驕りと隔絶のただ中に下された、厳粛なる宇宙の介入であった。」
