Gṛdhra–Jambuka Saṃvāda (Dialogue of the Vulture and the Jackal) — On Grief, Kāla, and Resolve
विमानशतकोटीभिरावृतं पुण्यकर्मभि: । उसने विचित्र हार और वस्त्र धारण कर रकक््खे थे और वह सब प्रकारके आभूषणोंसे विभूषित था। अरबों पुण्यकर्मी पुरुषोंसे युक्त विमानोंने उसे घेर रक्खा था ।।
vimānaśatakoṭibhir āvṛtaṃ puṇyakarmabhiḥ | tataḥ svarga gataḥ pakṣī vimānavaram āsthitaḥ | karmaṇā pūjitas tatra reme sa saha bhāryayā ||
ビーシュマは言った。功徳ある者たちを乗せた幾百倶胝もの天のヴィマーナに取り囲まれ、その鳥は最勝の空中車に座して天界へと昇った。そこで彼は自らの善業の徳によって礼敬され、妻とともにその世界で歓喜のうちに住まった。
भीष्म उवाच
Meritorious action (puṇya-karma) brings honour and happiness beyond this life; even a seemingly small being is elevated when its conduct is righteous.
A bird, accompanied by his wife, is shown ascending to heaven on a splendid vimāna, surrounded by innumerable celestial cars; he is honoured there because of his virtuous deeds and lives joyfully.
