Renouncing rightful responsibility—especially the duty of governance—can itself become adharma when it leads to preventable harm; ignoring wise counsel and choosing a course that manufactures one’s own downfall is ethically blameworthy.
The narrator frames a rebuke directed at a person who is giving up dominion over the whole realm; despite repeated attempts by others to advise and dissuade him, he persists, and the speaker warns that this choice is creating an avoidable disaster.
