उच्चैव॒त्ति: श्रियो हानिर्यथैव मरणं तथा । तस्मात्‌ कोशं बलं मित्रमथ राजा विवर्धयेत्‌

Transliteration

uccair vṛttiḥ śriyo hānir yathaiva maraṇaṃ tathā | tasmāt kośaṃ balaṃ mitram atha rājā vivardhayet ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「富と繁栄によって高位に上った者にとって、その富の喪失は死にも比すべき苦しみである。ゆえに王は、国庫と軍勢と同盟の友を、たゆまず増し強めるべきだ。」
