Gautama–Yama Saṃvāda: Mātṛ-Pitṛ-Ṛṇa (Debt to Parents) and Śubha-Loka Attainment
iti śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi rājadharmānuśāsanaparvaṇi ṛṣabhagītāsu ṣaḍviṃśatyadhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it signals that the chapter belongs to the Śānti Parva’s Rājadharma instruction, specifically within the Ṛṣabha-gītā discourse, framing the surrounding material as ethical guidance for rulers.
The text is closing a chapter: it formally marks the end of the adhyāya and identifies its location within the Mahābhārata’s Śānti Parva, in the subsection devoted to Bhīṣma’s instruction on royal duties.
