मयूरवद्राजधर्मः (Mayūra-vat Rāja-dharma) — The Peacock-Model of Protective Kingship

बाणवद्धिसृता यान्ति स्वामिकार्यपरा नरा: । ये भृत्या: पार्थिवहितास्तेषां सान्त्वं प्रयोजयेत्‌

Transliteration

bāṇavaddhi sṛtā yānti svāmikāryaparā narāḥ | ye bhṛtyāḥ pārthivahitās teṣāṃ sāntvaṃ prayojayet ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「主君の務めに心を尽くす者は、弓より放たれた矢のごとく、目的成就へとまっすぐ進む。ゆえに、家臣が王の利益のために励むなら、統治者は和らぎ甘き言葉で絶えず励まし、その熱意と忠誠を堅く保たせよ。」
