Bhṛtya-niyoga: Role-appropriate appointment of servants and protection of the royal treasury (भृत्यनियोगः कोशरक्षणं च)
मेधावी धारणायुक्तो यथान्यायोपपादक: । दान्त: सदा प्रियाभाषी क्षमावांक्ष विपर्यये
medhāvī dhāraṇāyukto yathānyāyopapādakaḥ | dāntaḥ sadā priyābhāṣī kṣamāvāṁś ca viparyaye ||
ビーシュマは言った。「まことに価値ある者は、智慧に富み、心の定まりを備えるべきである。正しき道理にかなって行い、また判断できること。自らを制し、言葉は常に柔らかく人を喜ばせること。そして反対や挑発に遭っても、なお赦しの心を失わぬこと。」
