Gratitude, Discernment, and the Escalation of Power (Śvā–Dvipī–Vyāghra–Nāga–Siṃha–Śarabha Itihāsa)
तथा कुरु महाबाहो सर्वज्ञस्त्वं न संशय: । 'भगवन्! यह चीता कुत्तोंका शत्रु है और मुझे मार डालना चाहता है। महामुने! महाबाहो! आप ऐसा करें
tathā kuru mahābāho sarvajñas tvaṃ na saṃśayaḥ |
ビーシュマは言った。「それゆえ、そのとおりに行うがよい、強き腕の者よ。汝は一切智である—これに疑いはない。」 文脈においてこれは、慈悲による庇護を乞う訴えである。語り手は聖仙の全知の洞察にすがり、脅威となる猛獣への恐れを取り除く方策を求め、その願いを、弱き者に対する慈愛と正しい行いの試金石として差し出している。
