Kṣemadarśa–Kālakavṛkṣīya Saṃvāda: Counsel on Impermanence, Non-attachment, and Composure in Dispossession

अवाप्यान्‌ कामयन्नर्थान्‌ नानवाप्यान्‌ कदाचन । प्रत्युत्पन्नाननुभवन्‌ मा शुचस्त्वमनागतान्‌,मनुष्य पानेयोग्य पदार्थोकी ही कामना करता है। अप्राप्य वस्तुओंकी कदापि नहीं। अतः तुम्हें भी जो कुछ प्राप्त है, उसीका उपभोग करते हुए अप्राप्त वस्तुके लिये कभी चिन्तन नहीं करना चाहिये

avāpyān kāmayann arthān nānavāpyān kadācana | pratyutpannān anubhuvan mā śucas tvam anāgatān ||

ビーシュマは言った。「真に得られる目標と財のみを望め。決して得られぬものを追い求めるな。すでに手にしたものを享受し、まだ来ぬもののために嘆くな。」
