Śalya Installed as Commander; Coalition Agreement and Battle Arrays (शल्यसेनापत्यारोहणं व्यूहवर्णनं च)
एवं सम्पूज्यमानस्तु मद्राणामधिपो बली
evaṁ sampūjyamānas tu madrāṇām adhipo balī | iti satyaṁ bravīmy eṣa duryodhana na saṁśayaḥ ||
サンジャヤは言った。「かくして相応の礼遇を受けたのち、マドラ国の強き王はドゥルヨーダナに告げた。『これぞ我が真実の言葉――疑いはない。戦場において、クンティーの子らすべてと、眼前に立つソーマカ族をも打ち破って勝利を得よう。疑いなく、我は汝の総大将となり、敵が越え得ぬ戦陣（ヴ्यूーハ）を編み成す』」
