Verbal Duel and Omens
bhrātṛbhiḥ sahitaṃ caiva kṛṣṇena ca mahātmanā | rāmeṇāmitavīryeṇa vākyaṃ śauṭīryasammatam ||

The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of speaking decisively and courageously in a moment of conflict, especially when supported by trusted allies and exemplary figures like Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma—suggesting that leadership in war demands resolute, duty-aligned speech.
Sañjaya reports that a key figure (implied by context) is in the company of his brothers, along with Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, and then delivers a statement characterized as fitting heroic boldness—setting the tone for imminent action or counsel in the war episode.
