ब्रह्मचर्यरतो नित्यं सदा धर्मपरायण: । ततो<भ्येत्य महाभाग योगमास्थाय भिक्षुक:

brahmacaryarato nityaṃ sadā dharmaparāyaṇaḥ | tato 'bhyetya mahābhāga yogam āsthāya bhikṣukaḥ ||

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。彼はつねに梵行(brahmacarya)の戒に親しみ、常にダルマに心を向けていた。やがてその高徳の人は近づき、ヨーガの生き方を採って、托鉢の修行者として暮らした—その行いは節制と義務と内なる不動によって彩られていた。
