शल्यस्य सेनापत्याभ्युपगमः | Śalya’s Acceptance of Command
गृहे यत् क्षत्रियस्यापि निधन तद् विगर्हितम् । अधर्म: सुमहानेष यच्छय्यामरणं गृहे
gṛhe yat kṣatriyasyāpi nidhanaṁ tad vigarhitam | adharmaḥ sumahān eṣa yacchayyāmaraṇaṁ gṛhe ||
サンジャヤは言った。たとえクシャトリヤであっても、家で死ぬことは非難される。家の中で—床に伏したまま—息絶えるのは、武人にとってきわめて大きなダルマ（dharma）違反とされる。彼に定められた道は、守られた安楽のうちにではなく、義務の戦場で危難と死に向き合うことだからである。
