pitṝn bhrātṝn parityajya vayasyān api cāpare | hatadhuryā rathāḥ kecid dhatasūtās tathā pare ||
サンジャヤは言った。「ある者は父や兄弟を捨てて逃げ、またある者は友や同伴の者さえ置き去りにした。戦車の中には、轅と馬隊が討たれたものもあり、また御者が斃れたものもあった。かくして戦場は恐慌と混乱に満ち、武の秩序は崩れ落ちた。」
