Commencement of the Śalya–Yudhiṣṭhira Duel
तानापतत एवाशु पूरयाणान् रथस्वनै: । दिशश्व विदिशश्वैव कम्पयानांश्ष मेदिनीम्
tān āpatata evāśu pūrayāṇān rathasvanaiḥ | diśaś ca vidiśaś caiva kampayānāṃś ca medinīm ||
サञ्जयは語った――彼らはたちまち一斉に突入し、進むにつれて戦車の轟きが四方とその間の方角を満たし、大地さえ震わせた。この句は、集団の勢いと軍の響きが、迫り来る破滅の徴となるほどの戦の圧倒的な奔流を示している。
