अध्याय ९ — दुर्योधनस्य अन्त्यावस्था, विलापः, तथा सौप्तिक-प्रतिवृत्तम्

Duryodhana’s Final Condition, Lamentation, and the Night’s Report

एवं ते निधन यात: पुत्रो दुर्योधनो नूप । अग्रे यात्वा रणे शूर: पश्चाद्‌ विनिहतः परै:,नरेश्वर! इस प्रकार आपका पुत्र दुर्योधन मृत्युको प्राप्त हुआ। वह समरांगणमें सबसे पहले गया था और सबसे पीछे शत्रुओंद्वारा मारा गया

evaṁ te nidhanaṁ yātaḥ putro duryodhano nṛpa | agre yātvā raṇe śūraḥ paścād vinihataḥ paraiḥ ||

サンジャヤは言った。「かくして、大王よ、そなたの子ドゥルヨーダナは最期を迎えられた。戦場の勇士として、彼は誰よりも先に戦いへ踏み込み、しかも結局は、敵の手に倒れた最後の者となったのだ。」
