so 'kalpyamāne bhāge tu kṛttivāsā makheḍamaraiḥ | tataḥ sādhanam anvicchan dhanur ādau sasarja ha ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。取り分が定められようとしていたその時、クリッティヴァーサ(シヴァ)は、集会の喧噪と騒擾のただ中で、己が目的を遂げるための有効な手立てを求め、まず弓を現出させた。この出来事は、正当な取り分と秩序が争われるとき、目的を確保しようとする衝動がたちまち力の道具へと傾きうることを示し、正当な主張と暴力的手段との倫理的緊張を予告している。
