वारुणी सभा — Varuṇa’s Divine Assembly
Nārada’s Description
पाणिमान् कुण्डधारश्न बलवान् पृथिवीपते । प्रहादो मूषिकादश्व॒ तथैव जनमेजय:
nāradā uvāca | pāṇimān kuṇḍadhāraś ca balavān pṛthivīpate | prahrādo mūṣikādaś ca tathaiva janamejayaḥ ||
ナーラダは言った。「大地の主よ、さらにパーニマン、クンダダーラ、バラヴァーン、プラフラーダ、ムーシカーダ、そしてジャナメージャヤという名のナーガもいる。」ここでナーラダは、旗幟を掲げ、身をとぐろに巻き、 hood を高くもたげて、ヴァルナの絢爛たる会堂に参集する名高い蛇王たちを列挙している。そこには無尽のアナンタ（シェーシャ）も在して敬われる。本文は宮廷の礼法を示す—ヴァルナは大いなる者を相応の饗応で迎え、他のナーガたちは合掌して立ち、シェーシャの命を受けてはじめて然るべき座に就き、苦悩なく礼拝して会堂の荘厳を増すのである。
