(Yamasabhā-varṇanam) — Nārada’s Description of Dharmarāja’s Assembly
na śoko na jarā tasyāṃ kṣutpipāse na cāpriyam | na ca dainyaṃ klamo vāpi pratikūlaṃ na cāpy uta ||
The verse highlights an ideal state where the causes of human distress—grief, aging, deprivation, and adversity—do not operate, implicitly encouraging detachment from transient worldly conditions and valuing a dharmic life oriented toward higher well-being.
Nārada is describing the qualities of a particular exalted realm/condition, emphasizing its freedom from suffering and negative experiences to convey its superiority to ordinary worldly life.
