(Yamasabhā-varṇanam) — Nārada’s Description of Dharmarāja’s Assembly
śāntāḥ saṁnyāsinaḥ śuddhāḥ pūtāḥ puṇyena karmaṇā | sarve bhāsvaradehāś ca sarve ca virajo'mbarāḥ |
The verse teaches that true eligibility for exalted company and sacred spaces is grounded in dharmic qualities—peacefulness, renunciation, purity gained through meritorious action, and freedom from moral stain—symbolized by radiant bodies and spotless garments.
Nārada describes the kind of people who go to (and adorn) the extraordinary assembly hall: ascetic, truth-aligned, purified individuals whose inner merit manifests outwardly as luminosity and clean attire.
