भीष्मश्न धृतराष्ट्रश्न कुरुवृद्धतमावुभौ । समेत्य नाहतु: किंचिद् विदुरश्च महामति:,“पितामह भीष्म और पिता धृतराष्ट्र--ये दोनों कुरुवंशके सबसे वृद्ध पुरुष हैं। ये तथा परम बुद्धिमान् विदुरजी मिलकर कुछ उत्तर क्यों नहीं देते?”
bhīṣmaś ca dhṛtarāṣṭraś ca kuruvṛddhatamāv ubhau | sametya nāhatuḥ kiñcid viduraś ca mahāmatiḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「ビーシュマとドリタラーシュトラ――俱盧の中で最年長の二人――に加え、大いなる知恵をもつヴィドゥラもここに集っている。なぜ彼らは何ひとつ答えを示さぬのか。」
