Proposal for a Renewed Dice Game

ajo hi śastram agilat kilaikaḥ | śastre vipanne śirasāsya bhūmau | nikṛntanaṃ svasya kaṇṭhasya ghoraṃ | tadvat vairaṃ mā kṛthāḥ pāṇḍuputraiḥ ||

Educational Q&A

Enmity pursued out of pride and stubbornness becomes self-destructive. Like the goat that harms itself trying to force down a weapon, one who insists on hostility toward the Pāṇḍavas invites ruin upon oneself and one’s house.

In the aftermath of the dice-game humiliation in the Kuru assembly, Vidura speaks as a moral counselor, warning the Kaurava side not to escalate wrongdoing into lasting hatred against the sons of Pāṇḍu, using a vivid parable to show how such actions rebound fatally.
