Shloka 19

जन्मवृद्धिमिवार्थानां यो वृद्धिमभिकाड्क्षते | एधते ज्ञातिषु स वै सद्यो वृद्धि्हि विक्रम:

janma-vṛddhim ivārthānāṁ yo vṛddhim abhikāṅkṣate | edhate jñātiṣu sa vai sadyo vṛddhiḥ hi vikramaḥ ||

ドゥルヨーダナは言った。「生きとし生けるものが生まれながらにして自然に成長するように、富もまた、その増大を切望し、みずから進んで追い求める者のもとで増え広がる。そのような者はたちまち一族の中で抜きん出て、彼らの間で栄える。断乎たる奮励—大胆な先手—こそが、昇進の即時の因である。」
