Adhyāya 33: Antarvedī-Samāgama, Arghya-Nirṇaya, and Śiśupāla’s Objection
प्रावर्ततैवं यज्ञ: स पाण्डवस्य महात्मन: । पृथिव्यामेकवीरस्य शक्रस्येव त्रिविष्टपे,इस प्रकार स्वर्गमें इन्द्रकी भाँति भूमण्डलमें अद्वितीय वीर महात्मा पाण्डुनन्दन युधिष्ठिरका वह यज्ञ प्रारम्भ हुआ
prāvartataivaṁ yajñaḥ sa pāṇḍavasya mahātmanaḥ | pṛthivyām ekavīrasya śakrasyeva triviṣṭape ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。かくして、大いなる魂をもつパーンダヴァ—ユディシュティラ—の祭祀(ヤジュニャ)は始まった。地上において比類なき勇者である彼は、天においてシャクラ(インドラ)が卓越するがごとくであった。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A righteous ruler upholds dharma not only through personal virtue but also through public, orderly acts—such as a properly conducted yajña—that affirm responsibility, generosity, and the moral legitimacy of sovereignty.
The narrator announces the formal commencement of Yudhiṣṭhira’s sacrifice, praising him as unrivaled on earth and likening his eminence to Indra’s supremacy in heaven, signaling the grandeur and sanctioned nature of the rite.
