अर्जुनस्य दिग्विजयारम्भः — Arjuna Initiates the Northern Campaign and Secures Bhagadattta’s Tribute
प्रकर्षणाकर्षणा भ्यामनुकर्षविकर्षणै: । आचर्कर्षतुरन्योन्यं जानुभिश्वावजघ्नतु:,वे एक-दूसरेको पीछे ढकेलते और आगे खींचते थे। बार-बार खींचतान और छीना- झपटी करते थे। दोनोंने अपने प्रहारोंसे एक-दूसरेके शरीरमें खरौंच एवं घाव पैदा कर दिये और दोनों दोनोंको पटककर घुटनोंसे मारने तथा रगड़ने लगे
prakarṣaṇākarṣaṇābhyām anukarṣavikarṣaṇaiḥ | ācarakarṣatur anyonyaṃ jānubhiś cāvajaghnatuḥ ||
激しい押し合い引き合い――幾度も相手を引きずり、ねじ伏せようとして――二人は間合いを詰めた組み討ちに絡み合った。連打のたびに互いの身に擦り傷と裂傷を刻み、やがて投げ倒し合うと、膝で打ち据え、押し潰すように擦りつけた。そこにあったのは節度ではなく、競り合う熱に駆られた執念であった。
