Jarāsandha–Bhīma Niyuddha-prastāvaḥ
Commencement of the Regulated Duel
अपरिहार्या मेघानां मागधा मनुना कृता: । कौशिको मणिमांश्वैव चक्राते चाप्यनुग्रहम्,मनुने मगधदेशके निवासियोंको मेघोंके लिये अपरिहार्य (अनुग्राह्म) कर दिया है; (अत: वहाँ सदा ही बादल समयपर यशथेष्ट वर्षा करते हैं।) चण्डकौशिक मुनि और मणिमान् नाग भी मगधदेशपर अनुग्रह कर चुके हैं
aparihāryā meghānāṃ māgadhā manunā kṛtāḥ | kauśiko maṇimāṃś caiva cakrāte cāpy anugraham ||
風神ヴァーユは言った。「マヌはマガダの民を雲にとって欠くべからざる者、すなわち特別の寵愛を受ける者とした。ゆえにその国では、雲は季節にかなって望みのままに雨を降らせる。聖仙チャンダ・カウシカとナーガのマニマンもまた、マガダ国に恩寵を授けたのだ。」
